Boxen is a fast-paced arcade boxing game that puts you directly into the center of the ring. The most satisfying moments come when you manage to get your opponent on the ropes, juggling them back and forth between alternate punches to rack up a high score.
Matches are decided by two methods: knockout or decision. A knockout occurs if you land 100 punches, instantly ending the fight in your favor. If the time limit of two minutes expires before a knockout, the match goes to a decision. In this case, the player with the most landed punches wins. If the scores are tied after the decision, the winner is determined by who has landed the most punches overall.
Boxen supports both single-player and two-player modes, making it a great choice for testing your skills against a friend or challenging yourself in solo play. The game was developed by Bob Whitehead and published by Activision, bringing a polished arcade feel to the Atari 2600 platform.
